Getting to know Letoya Wyllie

I am an Afro-Caribbean psychodynamic psychotherapist who incorporates a holistic, multi-systemic, and trauma-informed lens when working with clients facing various mental, emotional, and relational challenges such as depression, anxiety, grief, workplace difficulties, life transitions, challenges related to the immigrant experience, and trauma. I also focus on helping clients address the chronic stress of living within systems—family, peers, religion, and more—that do not support the full expression of who they truly are.
I utilize a warm, compassionate and empowering approach to working with clients as well as prioritizes rapport building and collaboration. I provide individual and couples therapy, using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), coaching, Motivational Interviewing, and other relational interventions to assist clients in achieving their identified goals.
I earned my Master’s degree in Social Work from the Silberman School of Social Work at Hunter College, City University of New York (CUNY), and I continue to seek new opportunities to grow, challenge myself, and enhance my skills as a psychotherapist.
I believe that taking the step to enter therapy as a way to pursue healing and growth is a brave choice, and I look forward to joining you on that journey.
