Liane Gerlach, LPC

Psychotherapist
WI
Hi there, I'm Liane! Facing difficult emotional and interpersonal circumstances in our lives can make us feel overwhelmed and helpless, but it can also create space for growth and healing. I have a gentle, yet direct approach, with the intention to collaboratively support you in becoming the healthiest version of yourself. My approach I believe the therapeutic process is essential to help clients gain insight into emotional regulation, behavior change, and productive thought patterns, leading to living an authentic life despite the circumstances. I commonly draw from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Attachment Theory, Motivational Interviewing, and Client-Centered therapy. My focus I have worked in various levels of care for the last 15 years, including residential treatment, partial hospitalization, and outpatient settings. I work with teens, families, young adults, and adults. I have significant experience with depression, anxiety, life changes, complex trauma, parenting, and mood disorders. My communication style I show up with authenticity, humor, and compassion. I am not perfect and do not expect my clients to be! My goal is to provide a secure and safe space that allows for processing, gaining insight, and facilitating healing and change. My first session with you A first session typically includes a thorough assessment of your history, reasons for coming to therapy, and setting a foundation for sessions and goals moving forward. I earned my Master’s in Counseling from Loma Linda University and also hold a Master’s degree from LIU Post, which have equipped me with the knowledge and skills to support you effectively on your journey.
