Lili Jacobson, LPC

Psychotherapist
NJ
The provider is a “Licensed Professional Counselor" and their license number is 37PC00407200. I am a licensed psychotherapist with nearly 20 years of experience treating trauma, addiction, and complex mental health conditions. My client population is vast; ranging from first responders, to survivors, to parents who’ve spent years holding it all together for others, to teens experiencing trauma in their essential years and school difficulties. After earning my master’s degree from Northwestern University, I have focused on helping my teen and adult clients navigate the challenges of everyday life including family, romantic, and employment concerns, complex mental illness, as well as the stress faced by student athletes and families dealing with academic challenges/IEP meetings. In addition, I have provided clinical care in jails, reentry programs, inpatient units, and shelters; helping people in crisis move toward clarity and recovery.

What should a new client know about working with you?

My approach is direct, practical, and rooted in real-world care—not theory. I focus on what’s working, what’s not, and what needs to shift. Whether you’re dealing with PTSD, anxiety, addiction, burnout, or ADHD, I know that progress doesn’t mean being “fixed”—it means learning how to function and move forward, even when things are hard. I understand the barriers that make it hard to seek help which is why I offer a steady, no-nonsense space where you don’t have to explain everything—I get it!

What is your typical process for working with clients?

I provide 60 minute sessions via telehealth tailored to meet your needs and am flexible with scheduling. I combine approaches of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Solution Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) Attachment Therapy, Positive and Relational Psychology, and Trauma Focused CBT based on what my client is experiencing. No nonsense, no fluff, with a healthy dose of humor when appropriate!
