I help adults and couples navigate relationship concerns, intimacy and sexuality, betrayal and infidelity, attachment wounds, anxiety, trauma, eating concerns, body image, sexual shame, and major life or family transitions. My work is warm, relational, trauma-informed, and clinically grounded. As a Certified Sex Therapist and Certified Eating Disorder Specialist, I often support clients in exploring the tender places where body image, safety, desire, shame, identity, and connection intersect. For couples, I support partners navigating conflict, disconnection, intimacy concerns, betrayal repair, discernment, and difficult decisions about the future of the relationship. I also work with individuals navigating relational trauma, sexuality concerns, anxiety, body-based shame, eating disorder recovery, and rebuilding trust with themselves. Reaching out for therapy can feel vulnerable, especially when the concerns are personal, embodied, or relational. My hope is to meet clients with compassion, clarity, and steadiness as we work toward greater understanding, healing, and meaningful change.

Getting to know Lillian Pernoud

I help adults and couples navigate relationship concerns, intimacy and sexuality, betrayal and infidelity, attachment wounds, anxiety, trauma, eating concerns, body image, sexual shame, and major life or family transitions. My work is warm, relational, trauma-informed, and clinically grounded.

What should a new client know about working with you?

Clients often describe my style as warm, steady, thoughtful, and direct when needed. I aim to create a therapy space that feels emotionally safe without avoiding the deeper work. I listen closely, ask meaningful questions, and help clients notice patterns that may be shaping their relationships, self-understanding, boundaries, intimacy, body image, and emotional responses. My approach is collaborative rather than one-size-fits-all. Some sessions may focus on insight and emotional processing, while others may include practical tools, communication support, grounding strategies, or help making sense of a specific relational or life stressor. I value honesty, compassion, and pacing the work in a way that feels both supportive and clinically useful.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

In the beginning, I focus on understanding what brings you to therapy, what feels most important right now, and what patterns or concerns may be contributing to distress. We will talk about your history, current relationships, symptoms, strengths, goals, and what you hope will feel different through our work together. Ongoing sessions vary depending on your needs. We may explore relational patterns, emotional triggers, attachment wounds, shame, anxiety, trauma responses, intimacy concerns, body image, eating concerns, or major decisions you are facing. I often help clients connect insight with practical next steps so therapy feels both meaningful and applicable to daily life. For couples, I typically begin by understanding each partner’s concerns, the relationship history, current patterns of conflict or disconnection, and the goals or questions bringing you to therapy.
