Psychotherapist
MD
I have a Masters in Social Work from the University of Maryland and am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW-C). As a humanistic therapist, I come to each session with unconditional positive regard for my clients. That means that you don't have to do anything but be yourself in our sessions. I believe that clients have the right and ability to achieve self-determination. I will encourage you to decide your goals for therapy and travel with you on your mental health journey. I work through a cognitive psychology lens, believing that our brains are the most powerful organ in our body and that our thoughts are the foundation for our behaviors and emotions. I utilize eclectic techniques during therapy drawn from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Internal Family Systems, and Emotion-Focused Therapy During sessions, I strive to create a safe space for you to be who you are. Being perfectly imperfect is what makes me a great therapist as I like to think it gives my clients the freedom and confidence to be perfectly imperfect too. Remember, everyone makes mistakes—that's why pencils have erasers!
