Getting to know Lillianne Rimmer

I enjoy working with people who are hesitant about the counseling process, strongly desire change, and/or have a deep need to be seen and heard. I have experience working with individuals ages 11 through 80. I especially enjoy helping grade school students organize and strategize for a better school experience. I also appreciate supporting young adults through the process of self-discovery and differentiation in their late teens and twenties. Additionally, I find meaning in guiding clients as they rediscover their identity when life roles shift due to marriage, divorce, death, employment, or retirement. I hold a Master's degree in Clinical Mental Health and School Counseling from Denver Seminary, which has equipped me with the skills to support clients across these diverse life stages.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I consider counseling a collaborative process of reflection and healing. We all go through difficult challenges and painful experiences. Having someone to process life with can help you find a different perspective that can lead to change and hopefully greater life satisfaction. I strongly believe all people are worthy of care and also that it’s important for a counselor to be a good fit for their client. A good fit in the counseling relationship includes trust, respect, compatibility, and capability.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Counseling couples, families, or friends together is a dynamic process that depends on every person present being invested in growth and change. Change is always hard and growth is rarely comfortable. I hope to provide support and structure that will assist with healing and repairing struggling relationships.
