Getting to know Lilly Martinez

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker providing compassionate, evidence-based therapy for adults, teens, and children. My work focuses on supporting individuals and families navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, ADHD, OCD, and major life transitions. I bring a calm, collaborative approach to therapy and strive to create a space where clients feel safe, understood, and supported.

What should a new client know about working with you?

Clients often describe my style as warm, grounded, and supportive while still being structured and goal-oriented. I believe therapy works best when it feels collaborative, not intimidating. We will move at a pace that feels comfortable for you, while still working intentionally toward meaningful change. I tailor therapy to each client’s unique needs, strengths, and values. Sessions may include skill-building, processing emotions, exploring thought patterns, and developing practical strategies you can use outside of therapy. For children, sessions are developmentally appropriate and may include play-based techniques to support emotional expression and regulation. Above all, I aim to create a non-judgmental environment where you feel heard, respected, and empowered.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

The first session typically focuses on getting to know you—your concerns, goals, background, and what led you to seek therapy. We will discuss symptoms, stressors, and any relevant personal or family history, and collaboratively identify goals for treatment. Ongoing sessions are structured yet flexible and may include talking through current challenges, learning coping skills, practicing mindfulness or grounding techniques, and processing past or present experiences. Progress is reviewed regularly, and goals can be adjusted as your needs evolve. For children and adolescents, sessions may involve play therapy techniques and caregiver collaboration when appropriate. My approach emphasizes consistency, trust, and practical tools to support growth both inside and outside of sessions.
