What should a new client know about working with you?

Clients often describe my style as calm, direct, and thoughtful. I am engaged and active in sessions — not silent or distant — and I provide feedback, structure, and practical tools when helpful. At the same time, I respect each client’s pace. Therapy with me is a collaborative process. You will not be judged or rushed. We will work together to clarify your goals, understand what is contributing to your distress, and develop strategies that feel realistic and manageable. If you are feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or uncertain where to begin, that is okay. Our first step is simply to slow things down and create clarity.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Our work begins with an initial consultation and assessment session, where we review your history, current concerns, and goals for therapy. Together, we identify priorities and outline a treatment plan tailored to your needs. Ongoing sessions typically focus on: Understanding patterns and triggers Developing coping strategies and emotional regulation skills Processing past experiences when appropriate Strengthening communication and relational boundaries Building long-term resilience and self-trust Treatment is collaborative and adaptive. As progress is made, we reassess goals and adjust our focus to ensure therapy remains relevant and effective.

Out-of-pocket fees and assistance
Initial session: $250 for 90 minutes
Ongoing session: $180 for 55 minutes
  • Sliding scale: Offers lower out-of-pocket fees on an individual basis, typically based on your ability to pay
  • Files your insurance claim: You pay the session fee upfront and the provider files the claim for you, so you can get reimbursed directly without worrying about the paperwork
  • Charges post-reimbursement amount: This provider will only charge you for the amount you pay after you get reimbursed from your insurance plan, so you don’t need to pay the session fee upfront

More information on payments and coverage

I accept a variety of PPO insurance plans, Medicare, and select Medicaid Managed Care (MCO) plans. Please verify your specific benefits with your insurance carrier prior to your first appointment, as coverage and out-of-pocket costs vary by plan. For PPO plans, I typically submit claims directly to your insurance. You are responsible for any co-pays, co-insurance, or deductible amounts required by your plan. If I am considered out-of-network for your insurance, I can provide a detailed superbill upon request so you may seek reimbursement directly from your carrier. I also offer private pay options and a limited number of sliding-scale appointments based on financial need. Payment is collected at the time of service. If you have questions about coverage or payment, I am happy to discuss them prior to scheduling so there are no surprises.
