Hi there, I'm Linda! Welcome! I am here to stand beside you and walk with you through whatever events or circumstances brought you to Rula. My special areas of expertise are working with those who are experiencing stress, anxiety, response to trauma and abuse, & people who are overwhelmed with life events of all descriptions. Many of my clients are just being inundated with things coming from several directions - family, work, social, health, etc. You don't have to be alone in this, as we can work together to find the best path forward to restore and improve your present and future! My approach Therapy with me generally begins with helping my clients create an open and safe environment where thoughts and feelings can be shared without fear of judgment. Taking the first step to seeking a more fulfilling and happier life takes courage. I am here to support you in that process. We identify what is creating the greatest problem currently. I want to get the pressure off as soon as possible. From there, I help the client prioritize their problems, explore solutions, and build a plan to improve their life. I use cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) to help you identify and reshape unhelpful thought patterns. This approach challenges those automatic thoughts and assumptions we all can easily make, and be led away from the facts or truths of a situation because past events have led us to expect certain things. CBT is hands-on in that you can always use it throughout your life and beyond therapy. It gives you tools to feel more in control of your emotions and behaviors. Based on any other unique needs, I often adapt my approach to include Solution-Focused Therapy. This is more goal-oriented to address specific situations and develop a plan of action that you can initiate quickly. Other therapies may address things like grief, acceptance of things that are not within our power to change, and so forth. Whatever your goals are, your progress is my primary focus.
