Psychotherapist
FL
A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step. Therapy can help clients take that first step. My style is interactive and goal-oriented. I use evidence-based models to help clients explore and reach desired goals, overcome obstacles preventing growth and self-awareness—both necessary aspects to feeling better and improving well-being and quality of life. Together, we explore the eight dimensions of wellness and examine relationships and behaviors to find an appropriate balance. We work on changing maladaptive negative behaviors and replacing them with positive, life-enriching ones. I hold a Master’s in Social Work from New York University, which informs my approach and commitment to supporting each client’s unique journey.

What should a new client know about working with you?

My goal is to help the client feel safe and comfortable in their therapy journey. We will focus on whats important to the client. All work is done at the client's pace. I may offer homework between sessions, which are designed to foster connection, bring about more understanding, increase positive behavioral changes, and reduce conflict in the areas we are working on. In addition, it is important for the client to know that they are in the drivers seat in their therapy, and that sometimes therapy is not a striaght path, but one that can have many directions that will help the client get to the path that is most helpful, enriching and healthy. I have been trained and utilize a range of therapies (by no means an exhaustive list); level 2 trained in the Gottman Method for Couples, Exposure Response Prevention Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Coping Skills, Life Transitioning. My specialties include Relationship Issues, Anxiety, Panic Disorder, Social Anxiety, OCD, PTSD/Complex PTSD. In addition, I have received (ICF- International Coaching Federation), approved coaching education training as a Health and Life Coach.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

I like to have an free initial consultation about 15-20 minutes long with the patient. This consultation provides the patient an opportunity to get a sense if we are a good fit and to discuss their therapy goals. I will then explain my approach and what atypical session could look like. I will describe the telehealth platform used. Each session will go in the direction the patient wants to go, to talk about what is on their mind that day. I also like to revisit self care and any other concerns the patient has had in prior sessions to see if they are in a good place with those concerns.
