Getting to know Linda Mirich

This is your journey, and I am here to help you meet your goals through objective insight, support, relationship, and understanding your point of view. My approach I use CBT, Motivational Interviewing, incremental goal setting, and an objective view of your journey. I incorporate positive psychology and remain sensitive to each client's needs by working with multi-modal theories. My focus I see many clients who are givers and care deeply about who they are and what they provide to themselves, their families, and the world at large. I teach clients how to meet their own needs. My communication style I teach a method I developed to decrease frustration by allowing others to have different opinions without seeing it as a challenge to fight. I am warm and accepting, encouraging and confrontational when needed. My journey to therapy I have wanted to be a therapist since I was young, yet in college, as a new high school graduate, I realized I did not have enough life experience. So, I married, had four children, was a widow at 31, and remarried at 33. After my children grew up and left, I went back to school at California State University, Sacramento, where I graduated in 2015 with a Master's in Marriage and Family Therapy and am now licensed. I have had wonderful people in my life along the way. My goals for you By introducing myself, I assure you of confidentiality and ask what you would like to discuss and achieve in our sessions. Then I answer any personal questions you have for me. My first session with you This is a time for listening to your story, dreams, and desires, asking for clarification where needed, answering any questions you have, and encouraging the beginning of a therapeutic relationship.
