Dr. Linda Rosen, PsyD

Dr. Linda Rosen, PsyD

Psychotherapist
NY
As a clinical psychologist with over 35 years of experience, I believe the purpose of therapy is to work together to face issues until they are resolved. It is important to feel some relief. As a good listener, I have strong empathetic skills and provide a warm, accepting, and non-judgmental setting where a positive alliance can be formed. Therapy is a place to feel understood, to unload and share, but it is also result-oriented. Therefore, my approach is interactive. I work with children, adolescents, adults, families, and couples. I hold a PsyD in Clinical Psychology from Drexel University, a Master’s in Counseling Psychology from Cornell University, and a Bachelor’s degree from Hofstra University.

What should a new client know about working with you?

Therapy is an opportunity to take time out for yourself and explore your deep felt concerns. It is important to feel that someone is listening and cares. A therapist is a guide to help make decisions in an objective way. To experience depression or anxiety in ones life is very common. Coping strategies are key - including cognitive behavior therapy (CBT), mindfulness and insight.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

My specialties include individual therapy, life coaching, for depression, anxiety, phobias, stress, life transitions, relationship issues, work addiction, ADHD, learning, self-esteem. I offer play therapy and cognitive therapy for children 18 months+. I am eclectic - which means a variety of psychodynamic and cognitive behavioral approaches are designed specifically for each individual. I believe in respect for the unique aspects of the individual. A good therapist is an experienced and caring guide to find new ways of looking and life and coping in a more healthy way. Focus is on health, wellness and positive choices.
