Getting to know Lindsay Scoffil

Have past relationships, abuse, or trauma left you feeling disconnected, unworthy, or stuck in repeating patterns? Lindsay specializes in trauma recovery, attachment wounds, and relationship healing, helping clients understand how past experiences shape current emotions, boundaries, and self-esteem. Through a compassionate and integrative therapeutic approach, she supports clients in rebuilding a stronger sense of self, developing healthier relationships, and moving toward lasting emotional healing. Lindsay is a Mental Health Counselor in the state of Florida with 7 years of experience. Lindsay has experience in helping clients with addictions, relationship issues, and trauma & abuse. Lindsay also has experience working with intimacy related issues. Lindsay believes that you are the expert of your story and that you have many strengths that will assist you in overcoming things that challenge you. Taking the first step to sign up for therapy can take courage and Lindsay is proud of you for getting started! In 2009, I received my bachelor’s degree in psychology from Western Kentucky University. In 2014, I received my master’s in clinical Mental Health Counseling from Florida Gulf Coast University. I worked for Heads Counseling as a traveling trauma therapist for two and a half years. During this time, I worked with children that have open DCF cases and became certified in Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. For the past, year and a half I have been working in Corrections. Corrections has expanded my experience to include working with substance abuse, personality disorders and psychotic disorders.

What should a new client know about working with you?

During the first session, I would like us to get to know each other and what your personal goals are for therapy. From there, we can create a treatment plan listing our goals and objectives. After the first session, we will always check in on how your week has been and explore what progress has been made, even little win’s win! I may assign weekly homework that consists of small reading and writing components, others may be a thought-provoking question. Ultimately, we will be exploring ourselves, learning new coping strategies, communication styles and how to utilize them in our daily lives.

More information on payments and coverage

Payment is due after each session and will be charged with your card on file for any portion of patient responsibility. Receipts will be provided at the time of the charge. This typically takes place 2-4 weeks after the session, once your insurance has had a chance to process the claim. We try our best to verify eligibility, but it is ultimately your responsibility to check coverage and out-of-pocket costs for services. For out-of-network visits, you will be billed at the provider’s self-pay rate, and we can provide an invoice for you to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement based on your plan’s benefits.

Lindsay is a very open and encouraging therpist, which is mainly what I needed. I don't have many negative habits or are seeking guidance, just needing to talk through feelings and receive encouragement or a positive perspective. The only reason she didn't get a 10/10 in terms of recommending her to someone else is that some people I know need more constructive feedback instead of just encouragement. She works for me though, and I enjoy my sessions with her.
Most helpful healer in healthcare. Ljmd
