Getting to know Lindsay Starlin

Hi there, I'm Lindsay! Hello! My name is Lindsay Starlin, and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) based in Indianapolis, Indiana, working with clients statewide via telehealth. I earned my Master’s in Social Work from Indiana University. I work with adolescents, adults, and couples, specializing in anxiety and depression, trauma, grief and loss, stress, work-related issues, and marital and relationship counseling. My approach I like to meet my clients where they are in a supportive and encouraging manner. I most often use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Brief Solution-Focused Therapy. I aim to help my clients feel comfortable and understood as we work together to navigate goals and a path forward. My focus I enjoy working with adolescents, adults, and couples. I also have extensive experience with public safety personnel and veterans. My goal is to help clients navigate stressful life events and transitions. Common challenges include anxiety, depression, stress, work-related issues, grief and loss, relational and family issues, substance abuse, trauma, and PTSD. My communication style My communication style is personable and accommodating. I enjoy getting to know my clients and making them feel comfortable discussing anything. I will support you wherever you are and listen without judgment. My journey to mental healthcare I have not always known I wanted to be a therapist. In college, I was a nursing student! Through my education and a student nursing job, I realized I wanted to spend more time talking and connecting with patients. I left nursing school my senior year, changed my major, and the rest is history! I have always enjoyed people and forming connections. Seeing individuals overcome adversity and find happiness is one of the most rewarding aspects of my job!
