WV
Hello! I’m Lindsey Maxwell, a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker who is passionate about providing client-centered care through an empathetic and open-minded lens. I strive to walk alongside my clients with unconditional positive regard so that healing and growth are supported throughout our time together. My approach I employ Dialetical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) with a humanistic approach to support clients through a research-based framework while remaining warm, open, and supportive. My focus I have worked with a variety of clients during my time in community mental health and consider my areas of particular focus to be working with those encountering complex trauma, depression and anxiety, personality disorders, and eating disorders. I am committed to supporting my clients in understanding themselves from a holistic perspective and consider the whole person in all approaches. My communication style Upon meeting, I will create a warm, welcoming, open-minded, and healing environment. I strive to be approachable and relatable while empowering my clients with the tools necessary to have healing and the hope for aspirations anew. My journey to mental healthcare My journey to becoming a therapist was an unconventional one, but one that I have felt called to for most of my professional and personal life. I began my career in education, working with vulnerable adolescent populations before working in rural medical and behavioral health for the past decade. I attained my BA in Sociology from Chapman University and my MSW from West Virginia University. I have worked with rural communities for most of my career and have a particular focus on those suffering with eating disorders and those encountering complex and generational trauma. I’m passionate about serving all persons and look forward to working toward healing as I believe it’s possible and attainable for all.
