Lisa Austin, LCSW - C

Psychotherapist
MD
Hello, I’m Lisa. I’m a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW-C) with over 20 years of experience working with adults and adolescents across a wide range of settings, including hospitals, schools, corrections, outpatient programs, and private practice. If you’re here, you may not be sure therapy will help—or maybe you’ve tried it before and it didn’t feel like a fit. That’s okay. Many of the people I work with start out feeling uncertain, guarded, or even skeptical. My goal is to meet you exactly where you are, without pressure or judgment. Over the years, I’ve worked with individuals facing trauma, anxiety, depression, addiction, anger, relationship challenges, adolescent concerns, PTSD, and more complex or sensitive issues that can be hard to talk about. No matter what you’re dealing with, we’ll approach it in a way that feels manageable, respectful, and tailored to you. My approach blends insight-oriented (psychodynamic), practical (cognitive-behavioral), and trauma-informed therapy. In simple terms, that means we’ll look at both the “why” behind patterns and the “how” to make meaningful changes. Therapy with me isn’t about being analyzed—it’s about understanding yourself in a way that actually helps you feel and function better. I strive to create a space where you can talk openly about anything—without fear of being judged or misunderstood. You don’t have to filter yourself here. Whether something feels big, small, or hard to even put into words, it matters. Starting therapy doesn’t require you to have everything figured out. If you’re willing to give it a chance, we can work through it together.
