What should a new client know about working with you?

Hello and thank you for considering me to support you through whatever challenges brought you here. I find that often people experience struggles that affect their mood, day to day interactions, and an overall feeling of wanting to make changes to improve their overall sense of well-being, but they don't know where to start. Often, recognizing that you are struggling is the first step to feeling better and I’m glad you have made that step. A little bit about me – I am part of the “sandwich generation”, in that I am caring for my aging parents while my young adult children are working their way towards independence. Life has it’s challenges but it has taught me a lot in patience and seeing things from other perspectives. My clients say I am pretty laid back as well as being caring, supportive and open minded. My job is to help you define your goals and help get you to where you want to be. The best way for us to succeed together is to be open and honest as we work together. Please feel free to ask me any questions as we get started.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

My goal as a therapist is to empower my clients, providing them with the tools and insights necessary to navigate life's challenges and discover their own resilience. I strive to create an open and safe environment where thoughts and feelings can be shared without fear of judgment. I use an eclectic approach that allows me to individualize your treatment. We will begin our work together by talking through your top of mind concerns and any experiences you may have had with mental health treatment. While diagnosis is important, it is equally important that I gain perspective on what has worked for you so far and where you continue to struggle. Throughout our sessions, I may ask you to complete "homework" to help us get to the root of your challenges and come up with strategies for success. Sometimes homework involves practicing new skills we discuss and sometimes it may involve you thinking through why and how you address things a certain way. As I mentioned above, I treat every patient as an individual and your treatment plan will be unique to you and your needs. If ever you feel we are headed in the wrong direction, i encourage you to let me know so that we can make effective use of our time together.

I always appreciate Lisa's support and guidance. I highly recommend working with her!
Lisa is fantastic. I truly feel so much after having my sessions with her!!
Have been seeing Lisa for seven months, and she has helped me immeasurably through some difficult times and helped me get through some obstacles.
I always look forward to my sessions with Lisa. She’s very understanding and sympathetic, while remaining positive. Even if I happen to be not looking forward to my upcoming therapy session, the immense relief I feel afterwards is always worth it.
Very professional kind and caring.
I love Dr. Lisa! She's incredibly kind, compassionate, and very understanding despite my tendency to ramble on (sometimes fully off-topic). She's helped challenge a lot of my negative and anxious thinking and immediately tries to help me find solutions to mundane things that are the root of some of my anxieties. I am so happy I found her.
Lisa is absolutely amazing! She has helped me manage my anxieties, prioritize myself, and help me sort out a lot of my worries! Highly recommend! She’s an easy listener and I have zero regrets about my decision to choose her!
Genuinely one of the most dedicated people I have ever spoken with! I had been struggling with mental health issues for the longest time and felt hopeless. I was extremely apprehensive about seeking help, but she has been such a positive influence and has helped me help myself in ways I didn’t think I was capable of! I went from someone who was immensely struggling in school to having the highest scores in my class and I really do have her to thank for it! We clicked instantly and she helped me become comfortable with the idea of therapy and has been a huge help in understanding my own mental health struggles. I couldn’t recommend her enough! She is always kind and respectful and you can tell she really cares about the work she’s doing!
Lisa is an exceptional therapist who is extremely knowledgeable, compassionate, and empathetic. Questions asked of her patients are open ended, and she make you feel comfortable as if you were talking with a friend not a medical provider. She circles back to the goals you develop with her regularly so you know she is monitoring your progress.
