Getting to know Lisa LaBrusciano

Please note: I am not accepting couples therapy clients at this time and currently only accepting individual clients. Appointments scheduled under individual therapy for the purpose of couples counseling will be canceled. Welcome! I’m a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist working primarily with individuals. I specialize in working with people experiencing intense anxiety, panic, avoidance, and fear that can make it difficult to leave the home or engage in daily life. I also support clients navigating the impact of trauma, health anxiety, chronic illness, and feeling misunderstood or dismissed by family members or loved ones. My work focuses on helping clients reduce isolation, build tolerance for distress, and reconnect with their lives at a pace that feels safe and manageable.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I primarily use collaborative, narrative, and solution-focused approaches to help clients understand their experiences and identify practical strategies for change. Sessions are flexible and tailored to your needs, in a supportive, low-pressure environment where you can feel capable and empowered to move forward at your own pace.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

In the first session, we’ll explore what brings you to therapy, your background, and your goals. My role is to guide and support the process while creating a trusting environment. In future sessions, you’ll learn to communicate your needs, cultivate empathy, and navigate relationships and life challenges productively. Together, we will work on building greater confidence, self-sufficiency, and maintaining meaningful connections in your life.

It was good and the therapist was helpful. Will go there again.
I thought my visit went well. She made sure she understood what I wanted to get out of therapy as well as helped me narrow down what I wanted out of therapy by collaboratively setting goals. She is direct with her questioning but not in a judgmental way. I will be returning.
I have to admit I was hesitant to begin therapy and didn't really want to be in the session. Lisa was patient with me and let me feel my feelings without taking it personally. This approach really helped me open up. She was friendly and I appreciated her calm demeanor.
Our appointments were disappointing to say the least. We made an appointment for couples therapy, she was unaware that it was for couples therapy. I have never had a first session go in the way it did. The appointments didn't feel collaborative, authentic, focused or structured. Neither of us felt supported, or any genuine care or warmth. As a whole the appointment felt like an assumption about our relationship and goals was made with little context and rather than speak up and say "maybe this isn't a good fit" it dragged on. Very least we found solidarity together in how we felt about the appointment. For taking the step to do therapy together this was discouraging to say the least.

My visit went great. I know from past sessions with therapists that the first session is mostly for gathering information. Lisa was kind and honest about her approach. I am looking forward to more sessions with her!
I've worked with Lisa for 3 years now after following her from a different practice. She is always willing to listen to my issues no matter how big or small. I've never once felt judged by her. She is one of the more "real" and straight forward therapists I have seen. It feels like you're talking to a real. I would recommend her in a heartbeat thanks Lisa!!
Therapy with Lisa has been a wonderful experience so far. I feel comfortable sharing any and all issues I am dealing with. She never makes me feel judged. She is open to changing her approach if something doesn't feel right which I appreciate!
Great connection immediately, highly recommended

Lisa is very professional and made me feel heard and understood.
