What should a new client know about working with you?

My approach to therapy is grounded in a person-centered, compassionate philosophy that recognizes the inherent value of every individual. I strive to create a safe, non-judgmental space where clients can show up as their authentic selves. I prioritize building a strong, trusting therapeutic relationship, knowing that when individuals feel truly heard and understood, they are empowered to make meaningful changes. I incorporate a variety of evidence-based therapeutic modalities to tailor treatment to each individual. This includes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), which is particularly effective in addressing the distorted thinking patterns often present in eating disorders; Interpersonal Therapy (IPT), which focuses on improving relationships and communication; and other approaches such as Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), Motivational Interviewing (MI), Narrative Therapy, and Solution-Focused Therapy.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

The first appointment will serve as an intake and focus largely on gathering information and goal setting. A typical follow-up session will involve general check-ins and updates since last session, review of any homework/activities discussed at last session, and processing of thoughts and emotions. I allow my clients to choose the direction of the session, and I will help guide our conversations by the therapeutic goals we have established at the outset of therapy.
