Lisa Marcelino, MFT

Psychotherapist
HI
My name is Lisa Marcelino, PhD, LMFT. I earned my PhD in Psychology from Walden University and hold a Master's in Behavioral Sciences from Kean University. I am also a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional (CCTP). I primarily use solution-focused and emotion-focused modalities to help clients suffering from trauma, depression, anxiety, OCD, PTSD, and Bipolar Disorder. I love helping others and making a difference. While I primarily use these approaches, treatment is always tailored to fit each client's specific needs. I believe in creating a safe, judgment-free zone where clients feel free to express themselves and process their emotions. I have extensive experience working with individuals, couples, and families facing trauma, depression, anxiety, OCD, PTSD, Bipolar Disorder, and relational issues. I understand that therapy can feel daunting and uncomfortable at times, so I offer a supportive space to share and process feelings, thoughts, fears, and hopes. I believe clients already possess the skills they need to succeed; they just need help unlocking their potential. I love what I do each day. Helping people in their time of need is deeply rewarding, and I am grateful for the opportunity to do work that I enjoy. Clients and I collaborate to develop realistic and reachable goals. Clients participate in an information-gathering process where I learn about their unique circumstances and background, and they learn about my expertise and how I can help. Through this process, I identify the presenting issues and explain what treatment will look like moving forward.
