Lisa Miller, LMFT

Psychotherapist
CA
I’m Lisa Miller, LMFT, and I bring a diverse background to my work as a therapist, with two doctorate degrees and a Juris Doctor (JD). Before becoming a therapist, I served as a pastor, providing counseling and Christian education. During my time in ministry, I developed a deep appreciation for helping others, as people often recognized my counseling abilities and valued the compassionate support I offered. I specialize in a variety of areas, including Adolescent Therapy, Anxiety, Bereavement/Grief Counseling, Child Therapy, Christian Counseling, Co-morbidity, Health/Disabilities, and Crisis Intervention. I also integrate evidence-based practices such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and offer support for Gay-Lesbian and Gender Identity Issues. My therapeutic approach is person-centered, drawing on the principles of positive psychology and faith values to create a compassionate and empowering environment. I’m dedicated to being a good, supportive listener and creating a safe, non-judgmental space where clients can share their experiences openly. I believe in the power of genuine connection and am committed to walking alongside my clients as they navigate life’s challenges, guiding them toward healing and growth. I tailor my work to meet each person’s unique needs and empower them to achieve emotional well-being and meaningful change. Outside of my therapy work, I have a passion for outdoor recreation; I used to lead cross-country bicycle trips and worked as a scuba diving instructor, where I enjoyed helping others explore the natural world. These experiences continue to inspire me to encourage clients to find balance and healing in nature.
