Getting to know Lisa Morad-Mccoy

I am a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW-C) with over 25 years of experience. I hold a Master’s in Social Work from the University of Michigan. Licensed in Maryland, Washington DC, and Virginia, I have worked with all ages throughout my career. Most of my work has involved helping people process childhood trauma and trauma experienced in relationships. Specifically, I can help you with anxiety, depression, grief and loss, physical disability, chronic illness, disordered eating, and identity issues. Overall, I enjoy helping people make improvements in their lives. I have a person-centered approach, and I look forward to meeting with you.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I provide therapy that is "person centered." What does this mean? It means that we work together and I start where you are. I will spend time getting to know you. I want to understand your story, and what brought you to this point in your life. My approach is to learn about your life experiences and to understand "what happened to you," not "what's wrong with you."

What is your typical process for working with clients?

You can schedule in person or virtual visits with me on Zoc Doc. I will contact you prior to the scheduled appointment to discuss next steps.
