Getting to know Lisa Richman

The only constant in life is change. I see my primary role as a therapist to be acting as a steward and support for a client as they grow and change. I strive to create a safe and supportive space where a client can explore their identity without fear of judgment. I also seek to support my clients during their road to recovery from past trauma, attachment issues, and relationship struggles. I have been working as a therapist trained in supporting folx identifying as LGBTQIA+ as well as trans and gender variant, and have had the honor of supporting teens and adults during their gender exploration and transition. I have extensive training and experience in this area, including training from the CHOP Gender Clinic and through the Mazzoni Center in Philadelphia. I hold a Master’s in Social Work from Temple University. Seeking therapeutic support can be a frightening and stressful experience, and I seek to be a grounding support person who can provide the feedback and tools necessary to survive and thrive during this process.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I will complete an intake session with all clients and this can give us both the chance to explore whether or not this is a good fit. We will explore past history, formative relationships, as well as current life challenges.

More information on payments and coverage

Payment is due after each session and will be charged with your card on file for any portion of patient responsibility. Receipts will be provided at the time of the charge. This typically takes place 2-4 weeks after the session, once your insurance has had a chance to process the claim. We try our best to verify eligibility, but it is ultimately your responsibility to check coverage and out-of-pocket costs for services. For out-of-network visits, you will be billed at the provider’s self-pay rate, and we can provide an invoice for you to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement based on your plan’s benefits.

Productive and inciteful during every.
Lisa is the best therapist that I've seen in my life. She works so hard to get to know her patients and after seeing her for a while now, she and I communicate so openly, and I feel welcome and excited for all of my sessions. She is extremely caring, validating, and also holds a magnitude of knowledge that has helped me grow and grow. I highly recommend her as a therapist and I have her to thank for so much of my progress.
I love talking with Lisa, I’ve known her for a few years now. She always reassures me that my anxiety and type A personality are not a problem and gives me the tools cope.
