Getting to know Lisa Sciandra

Being rooted in traditionalism, with exposure to the modern, has allowed me to be open to learning about life in new, non-traditional ways. My open-mindedness later in life helped me embrace the process of learning and become more comfortable with the journey of shifts and transitions that we all go through. Through this process, I have sought and embraced new paths, which allows me to connect with both young people and adults. I am a licensed clinical social worker with a Master's in Social Work from Florida International University and 25 years' experience supporting, empowering, and teaching both children and adults. My primary focus has been working with children and adults who have experienced trauma and adversity, as well as those facing challenges managing emotions, anxiety, depression, stress, and parenting. I also provide couples' therapy for those looking to strengthen or rebuild their connection through improved communication and conflict resolution.

What should a new client know about working with you?

In therapy, I work to build a connection thus creating an environment of trust and acceptance where you can talk openly and honestly without judgment. You can expect to create an alliance with someone who is relatable and empathetic. In cultivating your strengths, I will help you navigate through life with a new perspective and new tools to achieve peace, resilience, hope, and fulfilling relationships.

More information on payments and coverage

Payment is due after each session and will be charged with your card on file for any portion of patient responsibility. Receipts will be provided at the time of the charge. This typically takes place 2-4 weeks after the session, once your insurance has had a chance to process the claim. We try our best to verify eligibility, but it is ultimately your responsibility to check coverage and out-of-pocket costs for services. For out-of-network visits, you will be billed at the provider’s self-pay rate, and we can provide an invoice for you to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement based on your plan’s benefits.
