Getting to know Lisa Senn
My name is Lisa Senn. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in Texas with a Master's degree in Counseling from Sam Houston State University. I utilize evidence-based therapeutic approaches in the treatment of depression, anxiety, anger management, and trauma-related symptoms.
My approach
I most commonly utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Person-Centered therapy in my work. I also use components of Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and other evidence-based therapeutic approaches depending on the issues being addressed and the needs of my client. I am sex-positive and LGBTQIA+ affirming.
My focus
My focus is primarily on the treatment of depressed mood, dysregulated mood, anxiety, anger issues, codependency, and relational trauma in teens and adults.
My communication style
I strive to provide a safe, validating, and encouraging environment for my clients by being an active and engaged listener. I aim to create a safe place to talk about hard things.
My first session with you
Our first session typically consists of obtaining a thorough biopsychosocial history and identifying the goals and outcomes that are most important to you. We will review important privacy information, discuss ways to contact me outside of sessions, and answer any questions you have about me and the counseling process in general.
