Lisbeth Gannon, LPC, ATR

Psychotherapist
CT
Hi, I'm Lisbeth (she/they) — a Licensed Professional Counselor and registerd Art Therapist (ATR) offering telehealth therapy for adults in CT. I specialize in anxiety, ADHD, trauma, and depression, and I provide affirming care for LGBTQ+ individuals and people in polyamorous or non-traditional relationships. I became an art therapist because I've seen how much healing can happen when people have more than just words to work with. You don't need any artistic ability — it's never about the product. But if making something helps you access what's hard to say out loud, we have that option. If you'd rather just talk, we do that too. As a member of the LGBTQ+ community, I know what it means to want a therapist who actually gets it — not just one who says they're affirming. You won't need to educate me, explain your relationship structure, or brace yourself for a reaction. All of who you are is welcome here. I accept Anthem, Cigna, Aetna, and UnitedHealthcare. If any of this resonates, I'd love to connect.

What should a new client know about working with you?

Starting therapy can feel vulnerable, especially if you've had experiences where you didn't feel fully seen or accepted. I want you to know from the start: you don't have to explain or defend yourself here. I tailor everything — CBT, EMDR, Art Therapy, mindfulness — to your specific needs and pace. There's no rigid protocol. You're always in the driver's seat. Creative expression is available, never required. None of it is judged, and none of it requires talent. It's just another way in. If you'd rather just talk, that's welcome too. I also want therapy to feel useful early, not just eventually. From our first sessions I'm focused on giving you something real and practical to hold onto.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Therapy works best as a real partnership, so everything is structured around your goals and your pace. Our first few sessions are about getting your full picture — your history, what's hard right now, and what you're hoping for. I also start introducing grounding tools early, so you leave with something concrete from the beginning. From there we build a treatment plan together, drawing from whichever combination of CBT, EMDR, Art Therapy, and mindfulness makes the most sense for you. Every few months we check in on progress and adjust as your goals evolve. My goal is to equip you with the skills and self-trust to live more fully — not to create dependency. When you're ready, we work toward a thoughtful close. Some clients also choose to continue with occasional maintenance sessions, and that's always an option too.
