Psychotherapist
CT
Hi, I'm Lisbeth (she/they) — a Licensed Professional Counselor and Art Therapist offering telehealth therapy for adults navigating anxiety, depression, ADHD, and trauma. I draw from evidence-based modalities including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Art Therapy, and mindfulness practices. What makes my practice distinctive is the integration of creative self-expression as a pathway to healing. Art therapy can reach places that words sometimes can't — and you don't need to be an artist. It's the process that matters, not the product. As a member of the LGBTQ+ community, I am deeply committed to providing affirming, inclusive care where all parts of who you are are genuinely welcome. I particularly love working with young adults and adults who are seeking a therapist they can trust, collaborate with, and feel truly accepted by. My goal is always to empower you with practical tools, deeper self-understanding, and a therapeutic relationship built on respect and authenticity. If you've been searching for someone warm, collaborative, and clinically skilled — I'd love to connect.

What should a new client know about working with you?

Starting therapy can feel vulnerable, especially if you've had experiences where you didn't feel fully seen or accepted. I take that seriously, and I want you to know from the start: you don't have to explain or defend yourself here. My approach is collaborative and deeply personal. I don't believe in one-size-fits-all therapy. I tailor CBT, EMDR, Art Therapy, and mindfulness practices to meet your specific needs, goals, and pace. You are always in the driver's seat. Creative expression is available — never required. Art therapy can unlock insight and relief in ways that talking alone sometimes doesn't. A drawing, a collage, a simple mark on paper — none of it is judged. If you'd rather just talk, we talk. I follow your lead. You'll feel supported from session one. I focus early on building trust, understanding your history, and giving you practical tools that bring real relief — not just more to think about. You won't spend months waiting for therapy to feel useful. All of my sessions are telehealth. We meet via secure video from wherever you're most comfortable — your home, your car, your lunch break. This removes the barriers of commuting and rigid scheduling while still offering a genuine, connected therapeutic experience. I work with adults 18+, with a particular passion for young adults navigating life transitions, identity, or therapy for the first time.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Therapy works best as a real partnership, so I structure our work around your goals, your pace, and your needs from the very beginning. Consultation call. We start with a brief, low-pressure phone call to see if we're a good fit. First 1–3 sessions: Getting to know you. Our early sessions are devoted to understanding your full picture — your history, current challenges, and what you're hoping to change. I also begin introducing grounding tools and practical strategies right away, so you leave early sessions with something concrete. Building your treatment plan: Once we've established trust, we'll collaboratively develop a plan that identifies your goals and the approaches most likely to help. Depending on your needs, we may draw from CBT to shift unhelpful thought patterns, EMDR to process trauma and reduce its emotional charge, Art Therapy to access and express what words can't always reach, and mindfulness to build regulation and present-moment calm. Ongoing weekly sessions. Most clients meet weekly for 50-minute telehealth sessions. I am an active, engaged therapist — I offer perspectives, introduce tools, and regularly check in on how the therapy itself is working for you. Progress check-ins: Every few months, we'll take stock of where you are versus where you started — adjusting our approach as your goals evolve. Therapy should feel productive, even when it's hard. Working toward completion. My goal is to equip you with the skills and self-trust to live more fully — not to create dependency. As you progress, we'll naturally space out sessions and work toward a thoughtful close. Some clients also choose ongoing maintenance
