“I thoroughly enjoyed having the opportunity to have my session with Liz Drain. Her insightful nature allowed for her to openly listen to both sides without judging, then being cognitive enough to lead both parties to a better understanding. I would HIGHLY recommend her to anyone needing counseling...and this is just my first session ??.”

Getting to know Liz Drain

Hi, I'm Liz. Do you have trouble calming your mind and stopping your rushing thoughts? Do you struggle to focus while juggling work and personal obligations? Do you see how a lack of self-love and confidence makes life harder to handle? Do you often feel weighed down by feelings of anxiety or depression? Are you facing communication challenges in your relationships? Can you imagine what life would be like if you were more confident and happier? Life can feel very different when “thinking leads to feeling—if we think differently, then we feel differently.” There is nothing you wouldn’t do for things to feel normal again. You don’t have to go at it alone. Together, we will work on strategies that allow you to address and overcome challenges. We can identify what’s not working and make changes to help you regain a sense of control over your life. I’m here to support you, whether you’re going through periods of anxiety and despair, overwhelm, or relationship problems. It can be intimidating to seek counseling, but you’ve made the first and most important step by reaching out for help. I provide a safe place for you to heal and develop. I’ll approach you with compassion and use strategies that have been proven effective so you can break free from the shackles and routines holding you back. I hold a Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Freed-Hardeman University, which equips me with the knowledge and skills to support you on your journey.

What should a new client know about working with you?

After the first therapy session, the client and therapist will start building a trusting and supportive therapeutic relationship. The first session may provide some initial insights into the client's thoughts and feelings. It's common for clients to start reflecting on certain patterns or triggers. Depending on the client's presenting issues, the therapist may introduce some initial coping strategies to help the client manage presenting symptoms. After working together for a while, the client can expect deeper self-exploration into their thoughts, emotions, and past experiences. Increased Emotional Awareness by recognizing and validating their feelings more effectively. A broader range of coping strategies and tools to navigate life's challenges. Progress toward goals and enhanced communication skills.

More information on payments and coverage

Payment is due after each session and will be charged with your card on file for any portion of patient responsibility. Receipts will be provided at the time of the charge. This typically takes place 2-4 weeks after the session, once your insurance has had a chance to process the claim. We try our best to verify eligibility, but it is ultimately your responsibility to check coverage and out-of-pocket costs for services. For out-of-network visits, you will be billed at the provider’s self-pay rate, and we can provide an invoice for you to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement based on your plan’s benefits.

She was cool. Just not what I am looking for in a therapist. She did not come off as prepared as I would have liked her to be. Felt like I was talking with a beginner.
