My name is Liz Knowlton. I hold a Master’s in Social Work from Florida State University and have approximately 40 years of experience helping people manage anxiety and depression, often triggered by crises in their lives, including serious medical conditions. I have worked extensively with hospice patients, individuals with Alzheimer's disease and ALS, as well as their caregivers. Additionally, I have experience supporting people through loss and bereavement. Perhaps I can assist you in understanding the root causes of any distress you are experiencing and, together, develop new coping skills to better handle life’s stressors.

What should a new client know about working with you?

Our first session will be to get acquainted with each other and make you comfortable in sharing the issue that brought you to therapy. We also will work on setting goals for what you want to accomplish. One of my main goals is that you gain a sense of being understood and listened to as we work on resolving your issues. Many of my clients come to me feeling overwhelmed, so we work together to break down large problems into smaller, more manageable components.

Payment is due after each session and will be charged with your card on file for any portion of patient responsibility. Receipts will be provided at the time of the charge. This typically takes place 2-4 weeks after the session, once your insurance has had a chance to process the claim. We try our best to verify eligibility, but it is ultimately your responsibility to check coverage and out-of-pocket costs for services. For out-of-network visits, you will be billed at the provider’s self-pay rate, and we can provide an invoice for you to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement based on your plan’s benefits.
