Hello, I'm Lizet. Born and raised in El Paso, TX, I am a first-generation Mexican-American and a proud product of the borderlands. My bilingual and bicultural upbringing has deeply influenced my approach to therapy, allowing me to connect with my community in a culturally competent way that respects and honors their world view. I completed my undergraduate studies at Texas Tech University, earning a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and another in Spanish in 2011. Following this, I pursued a Master of Arts in Counseling and Guidance with a minor in Spanish mental health counseling at New Mexico State University. My educational journey has equipped me with a robust foundation to support my clients effectively. For the past five years, I have dedicated my career to working with survivors of domestic violence and sexual abuse. I specialize in helping clients navigate the complexities of PTSD, depression, anxiety, and generational trauma. My therapeutic approach is grounded in evidence-based practices, and I am trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), and Client-Centered Play Therapy.
