This might sound familiar… -You’re trying your best, but interactions still feel difficult -You get attached quickly, then feel anxious or overwhelmed -There are a lot of emotionally unavailable people in your life -You overthink every detail after interactions with others -You give a lot and don’t always get the same in return -You’re trying to heal, but you’re struggling to “be okay” -Your intentions are often misunderstood -You shut down and pull away when things start to feel close If any of this feels like you, I’m here to help! I specialize in conflict cycles, attachment issues and relationship patterns. I frequently work with people experiencing personality disorders and inter-personal anxiety. I also work often with couples who are facing recurrent conflict, mismatched attachment styles or repair after betrayal or infidelity. Whether you find yourself overthinking, over-giving, or pulling away, these patterns aren’t random. And, once you understand them, you can change them. Patterns of behavior are often rooted in attachment, past experiences, and the ways you’ve learned to protect yourself in relationships. Together, we can uncover the reason behind your patterns so that you can take back control of your relationships.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I’m Lois, a licensed therapist specializing in relationship patterns, communication, conflict and attachment. I help individuals and couples understand themselves so they can relate to others in a way that brings more joy to their lives. My approach is warm, direct, and insight driven. I strive to bring my authentic, human self to our sessions, and I’ll encourage you to do the same. We won’t just talk about what’s happening…we’ll figure out why, and what to do about it.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

All sessions are completed virtually. You can join from the comfort of your home or another private space where you feel at ease. You must be physically present anywhere in NC & MS during all sessions. I use a secure and HIPAA compliant video chat portal. Phone sessions are also available by request. Most people work with me for 8–12 sessions, depending on their goals and the complexity of their concerns. Some see meaningful improvement in just a few sessions, while others choose to continue longer for deeper work. We’ll decide together what timeline fits your needs. I prefer to see clients weekly, as I have found this supports the best progress. I am happy to discuss further should you require a different frequency of visits.
