Psychotherapist

I am a licensed therapist and the founder of Resilience Room Counseling, a private practice specializing in the treatment of Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD), anxiety disorders, panic attacks, and phobias. My work focuses on helping people break free from the cycles of intrusive thoughts, compulsive behaviors, avoidance, and reassurance-seeking that often keep anxiety disorders going. Many of the clients I work with have tried traditional talk therapy before but are looking for a more targeted, evidence-based approach. I primarily use Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), which is considered the gold-standard treatment for OCD and many anxiety disorders. I also integrate Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) to help clients develop the skills needed to tolerate uncertainty, reduce compulsive patterns, and move toward a fuller, more flexible life. My approach is active, collaborative, and practical. Therapy focuses not only on understanding what is happening but on learning and practicing concrete strategies that help you respond differently to anxiety, intrusive thoughts, and fear-based patterns. Resilience Room Counseling is a private-pay practice. Payment is due at the time of service. While we do not bill insurance directly, we are happy to provide a superbill that you may submit to your insurance company for possible out-of-network reimbursement. Please note that reimbursement is determined by your insurance provider and is not guaranteed. My practice serves clients in Austin, Texas and through telehealth in multiple states. I work with individuals who are motivated to engage in evidence-based treatment and who are comfortable with a private-pay model.

What should a new client know about working with you?

Clients who work with me can expect a structured, active therapy process focused on meaningful change. I specialize in treating OCD, anxiety disorders, panic, and phobias, and sessions often include practical strategies, skill building, and exposure-based work designed to help you respond differently to intrusive thoughts and anxiety. Rather than focusing only on discussing symptoms, we work on breaking the patterns that keep anxiety going—including compulsions, avoidance, reassurance-seeking, and attempts to eliminate uncertainty. Treatment often involves gradually facing situations or thoughts that anxiety has made you avoid while learning how to tolerate discomfort and build confidence. Many clients describe my style as direct, supportive, and collaborative. My goal is to create a space where you feel understood while also helping you take real steps toward the life you want to be living. It is also important for new clients to know that Resilience Room Counseling is a private-pay practice. Payment is due at the time of service. While I can provide a superbill for potential out-of-network reimbursement, reimbursement is determined by your insurance company and cannot be guaranteed. Because of this structure, I encourage individuals to book only if they are comfortable with a private-pay therapy model.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

The first session focuses on gaining a clear understanding of what you are experiencing. We discuss your current symptoms, the patterns that may be maintaining the anxiety or OCD cycle, and the goals you would like to work toward in therapy. From there, we develop a collaborative treatment plan based on evidence-based approaches such as Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). For many clients, treatment includes creating an exposure hierarchy and gradually practicing facing situations, thoughts, or sensations that anxiety has made you avoid. At the same time, we work on reducing compulsive behaviors and building the ability to tolerate uncertainty. Sessions are typically structured and skills-focused, with the goal of helping you develop tools that you can apply outside of therapy in your daily life. Resilience Room Counseling operates as a private-pay practice. The full session fee is due at the time of service. A superbill can be provided for possible out-of-network reimbursement, but reimbursement is dependent on your individual insurance plan and cannot be guaranteed.
