Getting to know Lorenzo Marmolejo

I am passionate and dedicated to providing the tools to survive and thrive. From the onset, I will do my best in creating a supportive and understanding environment with an empathetic approach. A dose of compassion with mutual respect and appropriate humor with clients to produce lasting existential change. I was a nursing student when a devastating car accident changed my life completely. After analyzing my options, I decided to go into the social work field to be an instrument of hope and of possibilities. My education field placements are as follows: the bachelor’s and master’s field placements were at San Elizario ISD, Clint ISD, and UMC Medical Center. There I interacted with the clients and their family’s needs. The CSW setting was at the Opportunity Center Homeless Shelter, which served many clients in crisis and other mental complications. Currently, I am at Children’s Grief Center CGC assisting families working with grief. Many people feel that they are in a dark valley because of their overwhelming circumstances. With the right tools we can find the light of hope for you. In like manner, I have had a difficult recovery journey, which also gives me a deeper understanding of taking proper steps for healing. Life is unpredictable, and sometimes we need support when facing sorrow. Remember if you are facing a setback, reach out to me so we can begin working on YOU making a comeback!

What should a new client know about working with you?

I come from a strength-based approach, looking at the entirety of the circumstances for solutions. I like to utilize all available assets, including natural resources, social circles, spiritual assets and social services. My mission is to see you through your challenges and prevail!

What is your typical process for working with clients?

My typical process is to initially build rapport and perform an assessment. We will develop a treatment plan, which includes input and agreement from the client before implementing it. I continue to perform assessments throughout treatment, in order to track the progress of my clients. We work together to find the right tools that will equip my clients with the ability to thrive in their post therapy life.
