What should a new client know about working with you?

Does past or current trauma interfere with living your best life? Do you feel like others don't understand the impact your experiences have on your day to day life because there is a cultural, racial, or religious gaps? Are you looking for assistance supporting others in your life who have experienced trauma? Trauma can be defined by any event that was scary or stressful. It can be a solitary event or continuous over a period of time, and it is individual to the person experiencing it. Trauma doesn't have to define your life. I understand that trauma isn't as much about the event, but the way the individual experienced it. My goal is to get to know my clients and help them acknowledge patterns of behavior that may have helped the cope at the time but can be shifted to help you lead a more fulfilling life.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

My approach to therapy is person centered which means we will work together to create treatment goals and the client guides the pace. It is my goal to create an atmosphere where clients feel safe, heard, and supported, so we can work together to achieve their goals. That is not to say that therapy will be easy, but never pushed. I may challenge perspectives at times but with questions that allow the client to reexamine their own thoughts and perspectives.
