Hello, I'm Lori. Disruptions in life can take us to places we may not be prepared for. When hope deferred makes the heart sick or anxious, it helps to have objective people in our lives to help clarify the values, goals, and mindsets that best serve us. Shining a light on the lessons from the past and how they benefit our transition to the future is paramount. I graduated in 1992 from Georgia State University with a Master's degree in Community Counseling. For 24 years, I focused mostly on part-time counseling work in a church or ministry setting. In 2020, I earned my Licensed Professional Counseling credentials, primarily through community counseling work with children, teens, and adults. For the past five years, I have been in private counseling, working with anxiety, depression, and PTSD-related issues in both community and private practice settings. I specialize in adolescent and teen mental/behavioral health, anxiety, bipolar disorder, children's mental/behavioral health, depression, family relationships, grief/bereavement, life transitions, OCD, perinatal support (pregnancy, prenatal, postpartum), PTSD, spirituality, stress, and trauma. My approach is values-based and incorporates exposure therapy, cognitive therapy, emotionally focused therapy, and trauma-informed care. I focus on helping clients who are ready to find solutions and commit to using their stress as a resource for change. Working with me means you'll have a dedicated space to explore your challenges and transitions. I am here to support you in moving from merely surviving to truly thriving. I look forward to holding space for you as you transition to a place of hope.
