Psychotherapist
TX
Hello, I'm Lori. No one should have to walk through life's challenges alone. This belief is what launched me into social work in 2016, and I have had the honor of practicing social work in mental health, hospice and palliative care, and medical case management since that time. Every person is unique, and every story has meaning that goes far beyond what we might see on the surface. There are so many pieces to the puzzle of our lives, and I enjoy helping people discover themselves and unlock what may keep them stuck or block them from moving forward. I apply a very holistic and patient-centered approach in therapy utilizing mindfulness, emotional regulation techniques, education in building healthy coping skills, assistance processing through difficult life transitions, and cognitive restructuring from a strength-based perspective. I have training in EMDR, managing anxiety disorders, complex trauma, somatic-based interventions, grief treatment, Internal Family Systems, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. My greatest pleasure is to help clients reach their full potential through self-exploration and self-discovery. I specialize in working with individuals dealing with anxiety, depression, grief and bereavement, life transitions, military and veteran support, PTSD, stress, and trauma. Whether you're navigating a difficult life transition, managing stress, or dealing with past trauma, I'm here to support you every step of the way. I am a United States Navy veteran who grew up in a small town in Northern Iowa and have resided in Texas since 2011 with my husband and two children. I received my Bachelor's degree in Social Sciences from Ashford University and Master's degree in Social Work from Our Lady of the Lake University in San Antonio, Texas. If you're ready to start your journey towards healing and self-discovery, I would be honored to work with you. Let's take the first step together.
