Lori Beth Long was born and raised in Wisconsin. She has been a licensed mental health counselor for 35 years in Florida, where she resides. Lori earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in writing and philosophy from the University of Tampa and her Master of Education in Counseling Psychology from the University of Virginia. Lori began a nonprofit corporation, Comprehensive Offender Rehab & Re-Entry, Inc. which serves people while they are incarcerated and upon their release. Lori has recently published a book, Bipolarized, which is currently on Amazon. She is also writing a second book focused on borderline personality disorder. Lori has expertise in all personality disorders, including bipolar disorder and borderline personality disorders, as well as anxiety and depressive disorders. Working in South Florida, Lori has had the opportunity to work with clients with various ethnic and cultural backgrounds. She also has extensive experience working with a LGBTQ population. Cognitive-behavioral strategies as well as solution-focused therapy are two modalities of Lori's expertise. Solution-focused therapy identifies the exceptions to the problems, which is a way to help identify solutions for each client. Clients comment that Lori is creative, intuitive, a good listener, and has a direct, yet compassionate approach to helping people.
