Psychotherapist
MD
Hi, I'm Lori. Are you ready to improve your life? Life can be extremely difficult to navigate at times, and it can seem impossible to deal with these stressors and the feelings associated with them. Taking the first step to seek therapy can be stressful; however, it is also a sign of strength. As a clinician, I strive to provide a safe, supportive, and judgment-free environment to begin your mental health journey. I hold a Master of Social Work from the University of Maryland School of Social Work and am licensed as a Licensed Certified Social Worker - Clinical in Maryland, Virginia, and Washington, DC. With over 20 years of experience, I've worked in various settings including private practice, therapeutic foster care, correctional facilities, and most recently within a group practice. I primarily work with patients experiencing life changes, stress, anxiety, depression, and trauma. My approach is grounded in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), which helps clients think about issues and situations differently. I believe that with the right support, you can transform your thoughts, beliefs, feelings, and ultimately, your life. My goal is to develop a strong therapeutic rapport and alliance with my clients, providing the necessary support to enact meaningful change. I specialize in areas such as anxiety, depression, family relationships, life transitions, perinatal support (pregnancy, prenatal, postpartum), PTSD, stress, suicidal ideation and/or self-harming, and trauma. I also offer SonderMind Video Telehealth for those who prefer virtual sessions. When you work with me, you can expect a collaborative and empathetic environment where your unique experiences and challenges are respected. Together, we will explore your thoughts and feelings, and work towards achieving your personal goals. If you're ready to take the next step towards improving your life, I am here to support you. Let's embark on this journey together.
