Psychotherapist

"Hello, my name is Lori Storer. I grew up in St. Marys, Ohio, and have dedicated over 25 years to the mental health field. I earned my bachelor's degree from Wright State University and my Master's degree from Liberty University. I am also certified in trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy, which has been instrumental in my work with individuals facing severe mental health challenges like schizophrenia and bipolar disorder. My journey in mental health began in various settings, including an emergency department where I conducted diagnostic assessments to determine the need for hospitalization. This role was pivotal in shaping my understanding of acute mental health crises. Following this, I transitioned to working with children in the foster care system, which eventually led me to outpatient mental health services. Here, I expanded my practice to include both children and adults, receiving referrals from pediatricians, schools, and former employers. I specialize in a wide range of areas, including ADHD, adolescent and teen mental health, anger management, antisocial behavior, anxiety, autism spectrum support, bipolar disorder, borderline personality disorder, children's mental health, depression, dissociative disorders, family relationships, gender identity, grief and bereavement, intimate and romantic relationships, LGBTQIA+ support, life transitions, military and veteran support, perinatal support (pregnancy, prenatal, postpartum), psychosis and schizophrenia, PTSD, stress, suicidal ideation and self-harming behaviors, and trauma. My approach is solution-focused, and I strive to help you enhance the tools you already possess. Together, we will work on identifying and changing negative thought patterns to foster a healthier mindset. I am deeply committed to providing a non-judgmental and welcoming environment for all my clients. I have worked closely with the LGBTQIA+ community and believe in offering support with empathy and understanding.
