'm Lory, a Licensed Mental Health Counselor based in South Florida. I work with individuals, adolescents, and families who are navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship challenges, and major life transitions. If you've been through something hard, or you're in the middle of it right now, you're exactly who I had in mind when I built this practice. My path to this work wasn't accidental. I have over 7 years of experience in community mental health and school-based settings, and it has shown me how many people were carrying enormous pain without access to real, consistent support. That experience shaped everything about how I practice today. I show up for my clients the same way I wished more people had been able to show up for the communities I served: fully present, genuinely invested, and committed to the long haul. My approach is collaborative and goal-oriented. I don't believe in therapy that feels like wandering. From our very first session, we work together to understand where you are, where you want to be, and what's getting in the way. I draw from trauma-informed care and strength-based approaches, meeting each client with the tools that actually fit their life. For clients who want to integrate their faith into the healing process, that door is always open. You can expect honesty, warmth, and a space where nothing is off-limits. My job isn't to have all the answers, it's to help you find yours. Cancellation Policy: Please provide at least 24 hours' notice to cancel or reschedule. Late cancellations and no-shows will be charged $75.

What should a new client know about working with you?

Coming to therapy for the first time can feel like a big leap, especially if you've been holding things together on your own for a while. I want you to know that you don't need to have it all figured out before you walk in, you don't even need to know exactly what's wrong. That's part of what we figure out together. I show up fully present, and I ask that you come as you are. Some sessions will feel heavier than others, and that's okay. I create a space where nothing is off-limits, where honesty is welcomed over polish, and where you're never judged for where you're starting from. If faith is part of how you want to process your healing, we can integrate that too, if not, that's just as welcome. I'm collaborative by nature, which means you're not a passive participant in your own care. I'll ask questions, offer reflections, and sometimes push back gently when I notice a pattern worth naming but the direction of the work is always shaped by what matters to you.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

In our first session, we focus on getting the full picture: what's bringing you in, what you've already tried, and what you're hoping is different on the other side of this work. From there, we build a shared understanding of where you are and where you want to be. Therapy with me isn't open-ended wandering, it's goal-oriented from the start. As we move forward, I draw from trauma-informed care and strength-based approaches, adapting the tools to fit your life rather than asking you to fit into a rigid model. Sessions build on each other, we revisit what's working, adjust what isn't, and keep checking in on progress toward the goals we set together. My role isn't to hand you all the answers; it's to walk alongside you as you find your own, with the structure and consistency to make sure that process actually moves somewhere.
