Luis was born and raised in Arizona and is a proud Sun Devil! He earned his BA in Sociology and later his Master of Social Work from Arizona State University. He’s been in the mental health field since 2010 and began practicing therapy in 2017. Luis has worked with diverse populations and ages through individual, group, and family therapy. His experience includes helping individuals with risky or problematic/harmful behaviors, trauma recovery, PTSD, depression, anxiety, LGBTQIA+ issues, and family problems/needs. He’s certified in TF-CBT and RRFT (Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy & Risk Reduction Through Family Therapy) and specializes in working with individuals struggling with sexually maladaptive or problematic behaviors. For many years, he’s worked with children, adolescents, young adults, and families involved in the legal system for various reasons, as well as in both inpatient and outpatient settings. His passion is helping people see the good in themselves and build self-worth, resilience, and confidence. His style is warm, down-to-earth, and sometimes laid-back, yet direct and willing to confront therapeutically when needed. Outside of work, he enjoys traveling, spending time with family and friends, and exploring new places and activities around town.
