Hello, I'm Luisa, a licensed mental health counselor in Florida with genuine compassion for helping people. I hold an Ed.D. in Counseling Psychology and have over 20 years of experience working with a diverse population, including adults, teens, and children. My background includes both outpatient and inpatient hospital settings, as well as several years collaborating with school systems to support clients. I am grounded in cognitive behavioral approaches, with an emphasis on mindfulness. I use a holistic approach in treating individuals because I strongly believe the process of healing is within all of us. Sometimes, we just need guidance and tailored, individual approaches to get there.

What should a new client know about working with you?

The first session involves the intake process, which includes gathering information for the biopsychosocial process. This allows for an understanding of what the presenting issues are and to develop a treatment plan with the client to address these areas. Overall, the sessions are geared toward empowering my clients and collaborating with them to accomplish their goals. I use homework assignments with my clients to help build self-awareness and work on effective skills to manage life issues.

Payment is due after each session and will be charged with your card on file for any portion of patient responsibility. Receipts will be provided at the time of the charge. This typically takes place 2-4 weeks after the session, once your insurance has had a chance to process the claim. We try our best to verify eligibility, but it is ultimately your responsibility to check coverage and out-of-pocket costs for services. For out-of-network visits, you will be billed at the provider’s self-pay rate, and we can provide an invoice for you to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement based on your plan’s benefits.
