Getting to know Luke Boone

Counseling has never been just a career for me, it's a passion that literally runs through my veins. As a child, I spent countless hours watching my father, who was a counselor in the Franklin County School System for over 30 years, as he instilled in me just what an impact counseling can have on others' lives. As someone who was born and raised right here in Franklin County, I am truly privileged to have the opportunity to continue to serve this community. I currently have over 11 years of experience in the mental health field. I graduated from Ferrum College in 2011, where I earned Bachelor's degrees in criminal justice and psychology. I later continued my academic journey at Capella University where I earned my Master's degree in Mental Health Counseling. I am currently licensed as a Professional Counselor here in the state of Virginia. In my free time, I love spending time with family and friends, as well as immersing myself into any activities associated with music and sports. As a therapist, I believe in your story and your individual experience. A space that is safe, comfortable, and free of judgement is essential for your success. It is important that you are in control of your own therapeutic experience, and I believe my role as a therapist is to serve as a guide and emotional support for you through your own journey. To provide a more authentic process and promote psychoeducation, I aim to actively engage with you through discussions and person-centered support. “Pain is real, but so is hope”, and that is the main goal of my therapeutic approach: instill hope.
