Getting to know Lydia Sylvester

I am a compassionate therapist and educator with over 15 years of experience supporting children, adolescents, and families. I earned my Master’s in Counseling and Human Development from Lamar University, and I am deeply passionate about helping young people and adults navigate life’s challenges with confidence, hope, and clarity. My approach is warm, authentic, collaborative, and grounded in evidence-based practices, drawing from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Trust-Based Relational Intervention (TBRI), and solution-focused strategies. When desired by clients, I also integrate faith-based counseling to support emotional healing and spiritual growth. I specialize in working with children and adults experiencing anxiety, depression, stress, emotional regulation difficulties, and self-esteem concerns. My goal is to create a safe, nonjudgmental space where clients feel heard, valued, and empowered to build resilience, discover their strengths, and develop effective coping strategies. Together, we will work toward healing, personal growth, and cultivating a greater sense of balance and purpose in life. The provider is supervised by Amanda Mooney-Moss.
