My therapy approach varies by the problems you bring to therapy. My expertise has been trauma work , depression/ anxiety, and suicide prevention. My approach I strive to bring Evidenced based practices such as CBT, ACT( acceptance & commitment therapy), CPT -PTSD, PE(prolonged exposure), Problem Solving Therapy, Mindfulness, DBT(Dialectical behavior therapy), as well as humanistic approaches. My focus I have worked with diverse populations and can adapt to be where my clients are. I have a large skill set for all kinds of problems clients bring to therapy. My communication style Clients have described me as calming and helpful. I create an atmosphere of non-judgmental warmth and hope. My journey to mental healthcare Growing up in small rural community there was no mental healthcare, but lots of gossip. I vowed to attain my degree to create safe spaces for people to heal and grow safely. I’m honored to work in mental healthcare and provide therapy with compassion and confidentiality. My goals for you I use the SMART goal approach, a collaboration with clients as active participants. My first session with you First session is building rapport while gathering information to identify the problem and prepare to set goals. I will orientate clients to various therapies and clarify our expectations for each other. Provide information related to scheduling, crisis intervention, and contacts.
