Getting to know Macie Dominique

My focus is women's mental health and wellness. I am a compassionate Licensed Professional Counselor Candidate in Colorado. I hold a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology and a Master's in Clinical Counseling from Adams State University. I began my career as a school psychologist and have worked with many clients from diverse backgrounds, including those with intellectual disabilities and individuals in need of crisis support.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I help women heal from the inside out. Relationships can be tough, especially if we have unhealed parts of us that prevent us from really seeing or understanding our true selves. Sometimes we find ourselves in constant conflict or hiding out of fear of being rejected. Too often, we feel pressure to make ourselves smaller or to fit a certain mold, because our self-esteem has been severely damaged. Our wounds can cause us to get into the same kind of toxic relationships over and over again. All of us as women really just want consideration, validation, & to be understood and valued by those close to us. I promise to sit with you & provide the validation you need, so that you can begin to heal & see yourself clearly. Connecting with me will allow you to explore your authentic identity, and empower you to learn the skills to cope with your emotions, communicate your needs properly, and maintain firm boundaries that will keep you safe. I will utilize a holistic, client-centered perspective to best serve you. Underneath all of the hurt that you have endured is a dynamic woman with so much potential to have purposeful and meaningful connection with people who truly love her. Let me help you see her, develop her and treasure her.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

During your first appointment, we will get to know each other and I will complete an assessment to learn more about the issues you are facing. In your next appointment, we'll embark upon a collaborative process to create a plan for treatment for achieving your goals. Going forward, I'll use a combination of skill building, emotional processing, and somatic interventions to support your healing. I use cognitive behavioral therapy, mindfulness, EMDR, somatic healing, psychoeducation and inner child work to help women learn coping skills necessary to understand their emotions as they navigate relationship issues. It would be my pleasure to accompany you on your healing journey.
