Getting to know Mackenzie Torres

Are you an adult survivor of child abuse who wants to heal from what happened to you? Or are you finding yourself taking care of others but not yourself? Are you part of the LGBTQ+ community looking for a safe space where someone understands? Are you feeling abandoned and worthless as a result of a relationship with a narcissist? It has come to a point where you are tired of fighting, and it's making it difficult to be happy in life. You are at a place where you want to start healing from everything you have been through in a fast way, which I can help you achieve through the use of EMDR and trauma healing. I hold a Master's in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and a Bachelor's degree from the University of Central Florida. My training equips me to provide compassionate, effective support tailored to your unique experiences. Together, we can work toward reclaiming your happiness and well-being.

What should a new client know about working with you?

You want to stop being weighed down by what happened to you and to start living. You want to be more confident in yourself. You want authentic connections with others. I often help by teaching you skills to manage trauma. I utilize EMDR therapy to aid in healing. I provide psychoeducation and resources such as books, articles, podcasts, & homework.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Therapy is not meant to be forever. Therapy is meant to help you make actual changes so you can move forward with you life and be happy. It can be a process to get there, but with working with me I will help guide you through a path of true, life-long lasting change. Going through trauma and bearing the weight that it causes is not easy. It gets exhausting and grueling but it doesn't always have to be this way.
