Getting to know Maddie Budreau

I hope to collaboratively explore the layers of your inner world by building a safe-enough space through our relationship. Therapy can be (and is almost always) a painful and vulnerable experience, yet also immensely rewarding. My therapy process seeks to identify how all internal and external forces throughout our life shape who we are and how we navigate the world today, to enact change. Non-judgmental curiosity, humility, and compassion are essential. I primarily practice from a trauma-informed, relational/attachment psychodynamic lens, but often integrate components of CBT, somatic awareness, and family systems theory.

What should a new client know about working with you?

My specialties are addressing trauma/complex PTSD, depression, anxiety, self-harm, grief, suicide, loneliness, and identity exploration. I have ample experience with chronic illness, eating disorders and OCD. In all areas of concern, it is essential to consider how injustices, oppression, and harm perpetuated by our world contribute to symptom presentation.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

I offer 53-60 minute sessions.
