Madeline Eggenberger, MA

Psychotherapist
NY
*This provider does not accept any Medicaid or Medicare plans* I aim to be authentic and conversational in sessions. I specialize in working with relationship issues, anxiety, trauma, and self-esteem. I strive to create a healing connection that can be transferred outside of our therapy room into your other relationships. Grounded in a relational, person-centered approach, I often move between your past and present experiences to increase your awareness and understanding of how and why you behave as you do while encouraging you to make positive change. Additionally, I will provide you with the skills necessary to put you back in the driver's seat of your life. I have a passion for working with relationship anxiety. It can negatively impact how you view yourself, your partner, and your relationship. Often centered around attachment wounds, relationship anxiety can be debilitating. I want to instill hope that it is possible for you to find a calmer, happier, more secure version of yourself within your relationship. As a woman with PCOS, I deeply empathize with issues concerning the female experience. This can include PCOS, Endometriosis, Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder (PMDD), and more. When medical interventions fall short emotionally and relationally, having a safe space to discuss your concerns and frustrations can be the next step to taking your life back. Said one of Madeline's patients: "Madeline is fantastic! She is very good at her job - she is thoughtful, insightful, compassionate and understanding!" Madeline Eggenberger has a Master’s in Mental Health Counseling from the University of Minnesota - Twin Cities. Madeline is a Mental Health Counselor with a Limited Permit, MHC-LP P126105 at Cerebral. Supervised by Chris Starpoli, Licensed Clinical Social Worker, LCSW 039426.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I work with individuals who are tired of feeling like life is happening to them and want to be put back in the driver’s seat. They may be struggling with stress, lack of confidence, relationships, anxiety, motivation, personal identity, or difficult life transitions. They are seeking security, confidence, and happiness and want to reach their fullest potential. They are willing to dig deep into self-reflection and want to learn skills to self-soothe, think more positively, and communicate better with others.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

By asking insightful questions, challenging you, and offering support, I will teach you skills to self-soothe, reframe your thinking, explore important moments in your past and examine your present day behaviors and relationships. We will set goals to help you improve your confidence, form stronger relationships, have less anxiety and practice positive thinking. My goal is to get you to a place where you no longer need me, but you are always welcome when you do. An equally important goal of mine is to help my clients improve their relationships with others. I feel the quality of one’s relationships has a very large impact on mental health. By examining one’s attachment style, communication, and needs you will begin to form positive relationships with others. I love to share what I know with the world by offering psychoeducation, helping you find confidence, happiness, peace, and positive relationships.
