Madeline Kling, LAPC

Psychotherapist
206 South Ave, Units 5 and 6, Media, PA
Therapy is a space for your whole self; mind, body, and spirit. As a dance/movement therapist, I use a holistic lens to facilitate growth, self-exploration, and processing difficult emotions. I see transparency, collaboration, and connection as pillars for therapy, allowing for my clients to lead while being empathetically challenged to meet their goals. I practice from a feminist, queer, and culturally humble framework. This means I help my clients understand the systems they exist in, those system’s impact, and how my clients’ identities intersect both those things. Using feminist and queer theory, I also facilitate identity development and the challenges that may present itself along the way. I use creative, trauma-informed practices to support my clients on their unique path. Dance/movement therapy, while sometimes sounding intimidating, is simply a therapy approach to find regulation, stability, and confidence using the body as a tool rather than external interventions. I use dance and movement in conjunction with the merits of narrative therapy and internal family systems to allow my clients to express and heal in a novel avenue. In therapy with me, you can expect a non-judgmental, warm space. I often use humor to break up the seriousness that tends to be associated with therapy. I guide exploration of the systems and identities we live in, as they are important to always acknowledge. Therapy is a journey, and I invite you to share your journey with me towards well-being and finding the most authentic you.
